‘FREE LUNCH’ HONORS WORKERS
WHO ANSWERED CALL AFTER SANDY
The National Association of Oil and
Energy Service Professionals (OESP) is
offering free lunch at their Convention to
recognize the efforts of those working to
help victims of Hurricane Sandy. “This year,
the Northeast was seriously impacted by
Sandy,” says Judy Garber, OESP Executive
Director. “Many talented technicians in
our industry worked extra hours to keep
customers safe and warm. Our Association
wants to acknowledge their hard work with
a free lunch.”
OESP’s Annual Convention and Trade
Show will take place from May 19-23, 2013
at the HERSHEY
®
Lodge in Hershey, PA.
Lunch will be available during the trade
show on Tuesday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 5
p.m. and Wednesday, May 22 from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. To get a lunch coupon, stop by
your local wholesaler and ask for an entry
form. Please note that this promotion is just
for technicians.
There is something for everyone at
this year’s Convention and Trade Show.
Attendees can catch up on required CEUs
for certification programs or see what new
products are available for their business.
They can also reunite with industry friends.
In addition to indoor and outdoor trade
show exhibits, OESP will host a variety of
classes from Monday through Wednesday.
Monday’s education program is dedicated
to managers and owners. Tuesday and
Wednesday will feature technical classes.
There’s even a class after the trade show
on Wednesday. There is a modest fee for
classes, but that fee entitles participants
to any and all classes. The trade show is
free to attend and Convention registration
is complimentary to anyone in the trades.

PIPELINE PROJECTS EXPECTED
TO RELIEVE OIL BOTTLENECK
The mid-continent oil hub at Cushing,
Okla., has become oversupplied in recent
years, but recent projects are expected to
provide relief and balance the supply at
Cushing, according to the U.E. Energy
Information Administration (EIA).
Pipelines were constructed and config-
ured to move crude oil north to Cushing,
and then on to refineries throughout the
Midwest. Since the Cushing hub became
oversupplied, market participants have
been looking to reconfigure and expand
pipeline infrastructure to move crude oil
south to the Gulf Coast refineries. “Over
the next two years, planned additions to
pipeline takeaway capacity should be suf-
ficient to ameliorate the current imbalance
at the Cushing hub,” EIA reports.
Over the last three years, pipeline
capacity for delivering crude oil to Cushing
has increased by about 815,000 barrels
per day (bbl/d). Key to this increase was
the construction of the 590,000 bbl/d
TransCanada Keystone pipeline that
