Solar Secured Solutions, LLC, of York,
Pa., recently announced the availability of
the Ecogreen Tank Monitor, a proprietary,
wireless solar-powered monitoring and
communications unit and software system
designed to reduce fuel delivery expenses
and increase profitability.
The system graphically shows current
tank location and level, as well as level history
for improved forecasting. Delivery frequency
can be reduced, cutting delivery expenses
while minimizing out-of-product calls. The
system was developed for internal use by
a leading regional fuel company and only
recently was released to the general market.
“Solar Secured will be marketing the
Ecogreen monitoring system that incor-
porates the proprietary technology that
helped a regional leader gain its competitive
advantage. It is not a new system from a new
company. Rather, we can now offer a proven
system to the rest of the world,” says CEO
Blair Mohn. “This system has been refined
over years in the Mid-Atlantic region and
already is deployed coast-to-coast,” he says.
Proven features of the Ecogreen Tank
Monitor system include ease of software
use, quick installation, dependable hard-
ware and 24/7 data accessibility ensured by
multiple location data servers. “Tanks can
be checked online, anytime,” says Mohn.
The robustly simple report screens allow
users to log onto a web portal and access
fuel amount, fuel usage history, and tank
location using any internet-enabled com-
puter or smartphone.
“The data collected by Ecogreen makes
forecasting simple,” says Mohn. “This
information can be used to track trends and
reduce the number of deliveries, reducing
delivery costs,” he adds. Another impor-
tant feature is the software sends email
alerts automatically when tank level hits a
predetermined low level. A new customer
recently emailed they are clearly profiting
from the $1/day all inclusive lease: “We
estimate Ecogreen monitors have saved
us at least one trip a week to the location,
which is about 52 miles round trip.”
“Our monitor is designed for optimal
flexibility,” says Mohn. “The standard
hardware can be used on tanks three to 25
feet deep and we are monitoring up to 50
feet high with a tall tank level sensor. Both
liquid and gas tanks, including propane,
are monitored. Since the Ecogreen Tank
Monitor is solar powered and uses wire-
less communications, tanks can be placed
anywhere that has a little sunlight and a cell
phone signal,” he says.

Taco Inc. recently introduced On
Command, a hot water recirculation system
that saves times, money, water and energy
while delivering instant hot water comfort
throughout the home.
On Command features a small, silent
pump that connects to the hot and cold
water lines at the home’s most remote
fixture. The pump is activated as needed by
the user via starter button, motion sensor or
remote push button.
During operation, the pump circulates
hot water from the water heater and returns
cooled water to the heater through the cold
water line. As soon as hot water reaches the
faucet, the pump automatically shuts off.
