in the last few months. A multi-feedstock
upgrade was recently completed at the
Albert Lea, Minnesota biorefinery. REG also
opened the 30-million gallon Mason City,
Iowa, biodiesel plant it had acquired in July
2013. At that event, REG also announced
a $20 million multi-feedstock upgrade
project for the facility.

Taco is celebrating 10 years since the
introduction of its first variable speed 00
pump – the 00-VS Variable Speed Circulator
– a big step toward defining the firm’s role
as a leader in variable speed pumping and
Delta-T system control. The “OO-VS” circs,
still sold today, were the first in Taco’s
growing line of energy-efficient variable
speed pumps that now includes the Bumble
Bee and Viridian.
On November 18, wholesalers and man-
ufacturer’s reps across the country marked
the 10

Profit Strategies, a pioneer in flat-rate
pricing for the HVAC, plumbing and elec-
trical industries, has launched a newmobile,
flat-rate application that enables contrac-
tors to ditch paperwork for a user-friendly,
cloud-based system that works anywhere,
at any time. All contractors need is a smart
phone, tablet or notebook computer.
The web application, Coolfront
, was
designed to help make on-site calls easy.
Contractors can capture all the service call
information on the cloud-based system, and
search a current repairs database to find
the right repairs at the latest prices. The
system will automatically incorporate the
small work-order fee into the customer’s
calculated price, so the contractor can get
approval for the work upfront, while fully
covering the cost of the service.
Coolfront’s user interface allows both
technicians and customers to understand
repair prices. Among the features is a
Google-style, intelligent search function
that gains knowledge of the user’s search
patterns to make repairs easier to find;
on-screen signature capturing; real-time
syncing of work orders to the office;
and even the ability to email a receipt
directly to a customer upon completion
of the order. Additionally, Coolfront is
designed to work online or offline, allowing
for more freedom than competing products
that require a constant Internet connection.

time and effort required to complete service
transactions.
In addition to the In-App Parts Ordering
Capability, Profit Strategies recently
announced a new feature – the Your
Favorite Tab. This allows service techs to
add any often-recurring repair to their list
of favorites with just a few taps or clicks on
their mobile devices, further automating
and reducing the time it takes to process a
service transaction.
