The OESP Road Show’s condensed
format is tailored to make the most of
attendees’ time. Both events will feature a
full day of education on Monday, as well
as an evening reception where exhibitors
and attendees can mingle among the trade
show displays. Classes will resume on
Tuesday, and both breakfast and lunch will
be held in the trade show area to maximize
networking opportunities. After lunch,
participants can leave or stay for additional
classes and socializing later in the evening.
Attendees will only have to spend one night
away, and they’ll have the opportunity to
earn CEUs and learn about new products.
And if manufacturers choose to stay just
one night, they can easily do so.
Each OESP Road Show location offers
a unique experience. The May 12-13 Road
Show will take place at Mohegan Sun Resort
and Casino in Connecticut. The resort has
several on-site restaurants if manufacturers
would like to take their customers to
dinner on Tuesday evening. The September
21-23 Road Show event will be held at the
Wyndham Hotel in Gettysburg, PA. It will
feature an outdoor area for larger displays
and the live firing of boilers. Participants
can also enjoy the outdoors during the Dave
Nelsen Scholarship Golf Tournament and
Oil Heat Cares’ Care to Ride event.
OESP invites all industry professionals
–plumbers, chimney experts, home inspec-
tors, HVACR contractors, company owners
and company managers – to attend the
Road Show. Visit

NYOHA AND OHILI TALK
BIODIESEL WITH REG
In the wake of New York City biofuels
mandates and pending statewide legisla-
tion, the New York Oil Heating Association
(NYOHA) and the Oil Heat Institute of
Long Island (OHILI) held a joint “Lunch
and Learn” in mid-October to bring mem-
bers up to date on the use, distribution and
benefits of biofuels.
NYOHA worked closely with Coun-
cilman James Gennaro, the sponsor of the
city mandates, to get the local regulations
signed into law. The City now requires a
minimum B2 blend for all heating oil sold
in the five boroughs, and recently enacted a
law requiring all city-owned diesel vehicles
to switch to biodiesel blends next year. Both
NYOHA and OHILI worked closely with
Members of the State Legislature to enact a
law requiring B2 heating oil in Nassau, Suf-
folk, Westchester and Rockland counties by
October 1, 2014, and throughout the state
as of July 1, 2015. That bill is awaiting the
Governor’s signature.
The “lunch” was sponsored by
Renewable Energy Group (REG), and the
“learn” was a presentation on how to “Fuel
Your Business With Bioheat
®
,” presented
by Jon Scharingson, Executive Director of
Sales & Marketing for REG. Scharingson
discussed the “three-legged stool” driving
