Asserting an increase in fraudulent Electronic Logging Device readings indicating tampering with the devices, CVSA Deputy Executive Director Adrienne Gildea has indicated that CVSA is working on a new out of service guidance document on ELD tampering. She indicated that if a driver is found to have fraudulent ELD records due to tampering with the device, the driver could be placed out of service for ten hours.

CVSA will place this proposal on a ballot for a vote in the fall of 2025. If it passes, the new out of service requirement would go into effect on April 1, 2026.
