Dear NEFI Members and Supporters, 

As we close the book on 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a remarkable year for NEFI, its association partners, and the broader industry.

This year, we proved what we can accomplish when we stand together. We returned to Boston for a successful HEAT Show in August, bringing our industry family together to learn, connect, and celebrate our shared mission. At the HEAT Show's annual summit, we ratified the Boston Resolution – a clarion call for balanced energy policies that prioritize affordability, reliability, and consumer choice. We expanded NEFI’s educational offerings through new partnerships, including Quality Service Contractors professional development and training programs with PHCC, and ACE Entry-Level Driver Training services with NPGA, both of which were met with great success. We hired a new in-house government affairs professional to strengthen our presence in Washington and bolster the collective efforts of our association partners.

A Historic Year for Advocacy
On the advocacy front, 2025 was one of the most successful years in NEFI’s history. We played a lead role in rolling back harmful regulations, including electrification mandates and bans on conventional heating systems that threaten our livelihoods. We pumped the brakes on costly federal and state electric truck mandates and attended the bill signing at the White House. We helped build historic, bipartisan momentum behind national energy choice legislation, which is now poised for House floor consideration in 2026. And we were pivotal in saving LIHEAP from elimination - protecting millions of families and seniors who depend on heating assistance to stay warm.

These victories did not happen by accident. They happened because this industry showed up, spoke up, and invested in its own future.

To our valued NEFI members: thank you. Your support makes everything we do possible. To those who are not yet members: I invite you to take the leap in 2026. Join our family. Stand shoulder to shoulder with us as we fight for your business, your customers, and your future.

Supporting the Work Ahead
NEFI remains a leading voice for heating fuel dealers and home comfort providers in Washington, DC. But I must be honest and direct: membership dues alone are insufficient to meet the extraordinary costs of our legislative, regulatory, legal, and broader advocacy and communications efforts. In fact, starting next year, no NEFI dues will be used for lobbying purposes. 

That is why the Industry Advocacy Fund is so critical and why I want to recognize the companies and individuals who stepped up in 2025 to make this year’s successes possible.

Looking Ahead
As we look to 2026, I am filled with so much hope. The challenges ahead are real, but so is our resolve. Together, we will safeguard an energy future that includes all of us and ensures that no one will be left "out in the cold."
