This week, the heating fuel industry heads to New York City for the 2026 Advanced Energy Conference (AEC), November 4 to 6. Run by the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center at Stony Brook University, the conference brings together the people who shape New York’s energy policy. Dealers, fuel suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and researchers are coming together to make one case: renewable liquid fuels are the most sensible path to affordable emissions reductions across the Northeast.
The conference kicks off tomorrow, November 4, with a Bioheat® fuel workshop, “Beyond the Transition: How America’s Liquid Fuel Industry Quietly Reinvented Itself.” Speakers include Jeff Hammond of Star Gas, Michael Devine and Dr. Tom Butcher of the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA), Donnell Rehagen of Clean Fuels Alliance America, and dealers Allison Heaney of Skaggs-Walsh and Ray Hart of Hart Home Comfort, along with panels of equipment manufacturers and fuel suppliers. Together they will make the case that Bioheat® fuel, biodiesel, and renewable diesel already work in today’s equipment and delivery systems and cut carbon now.
The industry will also host a Bioheat® fuel Pavilion on the exhibit floor for the rest of the conference, staffed by members of the coalition, including NEFI. With much of the national debate over building electrification centered in New York right now, this is an important opportunity to show policymakers, academics, and stakeholders from across the energy sector and the region what our industry has already achieved. If you are attending, please stop by.
