More Associations Adopt The Boston Resolution

Boston Resolution

Last week, the Boards of both the Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association (MEMA) and the Organization of Energy Service Professionals (OESP, formerly the National Association of Oil & Energy Service Professionals) voted to adopt the Boston Resolution as written.

The Boston Resolution is a set of principles that aim to guide interactions with legislators, media, and the public regarding building energy policies that are attainable, pro-consumer, and prioritize affordability, reliability, and choice. The resolution has been submitted to regional, state, and local heating fuel associations throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, to establish a unified industry voice for engagement with policymakers at all levels of government.

The Boston Resolution was presented to and ratified by industry stakeholders at the August 22 Industry Summit VII. It was On Monday, September 15, NEFI’s Executive Board held a special meeting to consider the “Principles for Equitable and Reliable Building Decarbonization,” also known as the Boston Resolution. After a review of the resolution and open discussion, the Board voted to formally adopt, endorse, and promote the resolution.

The Resolution calls for all industry associations at the national, regional, state, and local levels, to review and accept the document as is or with modifications appropriate to their membership, to establish a “unified industry voice for engagement with policymakers and the public.”
